Eric Bachmann (Archers of Loaf/Crooked Fingers) and Jon Rauhouse (Neko Case, among others).The two musicians have been supporting Neko Case on tour, and last Summer released a record of instrumental tunes. Recorded at 513 studios in Tempe, Arizona, it’s a primarily acoustic, all-instrumental affair.
Today, it’s Avishai Cohen’s record for ECM released February 2016. Somber and atmospheric. Cohen spent several years with the SF Jazz Collective, and first recorded for ECM playing with Mark Turner’s quartet on Lathe of Heaven. One of my favorites from last year.
