Faith No More: Sol Invictus
Faith No More is back, with Sol Invictus.
I’ve read some mediocre reviews and commentary on the music, and, while I think much of it makes sense, I don’t care. This is a good FNM record, and I find it very much in the spirit of Angel Dust. Admittedly, I think the latter was the best record of 1992, so may still be under the influence of its incredible power and far-reaching creativity. So be it.
This wild mix of pop, metal and numerous other influences the band blends remains entertaining and thought-provoking. There’s something here – something special – that FNM were embraced by mainstream music culture then and now.
